You will own the technical shape of client systems end to end — sitting in discovery sessions, deciding the architecture, writing a substantial share of the code, and being on hand when it goes live. Our engineers stay with a system after launch, which changes how you build it.
Most of our work is .NET or Node.js on the server with React and Next.js on the front end, over SQL Server or PostgreSQL. Depth in one of those and willingness to work across the rest matters more than ticking every box.
What you’ll be doing
- Own the architecture of client systems from discovery through to production
- Write and review code across the stack, holding a standard others can maintain
- Sit in client sessions and translate operational problems into technical decisions
- Mentor mid-level engineers through code review and pairing
- Take part in the support rotation for systems you helped build
What we’re looking for
- Five or more years building production web applications
- Strong command of either .NET/C# or Node.js/TypeScript, and comfort with the other
- Practical relational database skills — schema design, indexing, reading a query plan
- Experience taking a system to production and supporting it afterwards
- Able to explain a technical trade-off to a non-technical stakeholder
